Biotic and abiotic factors affecting survival and spread of vibrios (pathogenic for humans and invertebrates) in coastal waters. Special attention is given to the response of the vibrio community and human pathogenic vibrios to climate change by the use of the "continuous plankton recorder (CPR)" historical samples and link with epidemiological data related to Vibrio outbreaks.
Development of new technologies, mainly based on NGS, for studying Vibrio community in the marine environment
Interactions between mussel hemocytes and vibrios; particular attention is given to the study of bacterial and hemolymph factors leading to accumulation inside bivalves of high concentrations of vibrios pathogenic for humans
